GERRY ADAMS BOOK SIGNING EASONS DUNGARVAN

Gerry Adams draws large crowd in Dungarvan

Eason’s book shop in Dungarvan saw its largest crowd ever for a book signing when Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams came to town on Friday last, 9th November. Over 200 people queued from 5.30 p.m. to meet Mr Adams and for him to sign a copy of his latest book, "An Irish Eye". Mr Adams spent an hour and a half signing books and meeting local people and was gratified and amazed by the warmth of the welcome he received from the people of West Waterford.
He then went on to make a surprise visit to a Tyrone hurling team in a local hotel who were visiting the area as guests of the Tallow GAA Club. The youngsters were delighted by the visit.
Mr Adams later met with 50 members of Sinn Féin from Waterford. He spoke about how the Northern Assembly was working and of working with Ian Paisley. He talked about the parlous state of the Health Service, Sinn Féin re-organisation and recruitment and the local elections of 2009. This was followed by a wide-ranging question and answer session.
